The project is a logistics centre office space. The existing office is transformed from an enclosed environment to a more open and interactive environment so that people work better together.
The existing office consisted of three areas.
The reception area, was an enclosed space having fixed opaque partitions on all sides. This created a confined space. To increase visual connection and openness between reception area , open office and outdoor area the opaque partitions were replaced with glass. The glass is also used for company branding.
The existing workspace was a series of enclosed spaces restricting the interaction and visual connection between employees. The redesign addressed this issue by creating an open office environment with workstations planned to create an interactive environment and provide visual communication throughout the workspace.
Half-honeycomb shaped workstations are designed in the workspace which creates four sections in the open office. The company color is used to accent all furniture pieces. The new wooden flooring contrasting with white furniture creates the experience of a spacious open office.
Storage is provided along the corridor adjacent the open office for easy access to files.
The new cafe area with company branding offers a view of the logistics space. This spaces provides the users with a coffee counter and an informal seating arrangement. An open staircase painted in their company color leads to the upper level connecting the cafe to canteen and indoor games area. Informal seating arrangement in indoor games area promotes interaction between the employees. Existing furniture has been replaced with quality tables and chairs and new flooring and wall painting is been done to enlighten the space.
