The Lofts is a signature skyscraper in the Blue Ridge township at Hinjewadi Pune. The landscape design is catered towers young adults who form the target market for this building.
The landscape is divided into two levels viz. the podium level and the ground level landscape. Landscape at the ground level is a transitional landscape space due to the nature of the site while landscape at the podium level consists of various walking and staying spaces.
The podium level houses a toddler's play space to the west, a futsal court to the north-west, a swimming pool to the north-east and a multi-use lawn space to the east. These are bounded by pathways going north- south between the court and pool and east- west from the lawn to the toddler's space meeting at a central point. The pathways weave in and out serially forming small nooks for sitting. The north south pathway has additional sitting spaces surrounded by shrubs.
The futsal court has a transparent chain link fence to allow pedestrians to view any ongoing games. It also has benches on the outside for seated viewing. This pathway adjacent the futsal court doubles back along the swimming pool with its feature water-sheet and lawn gradually revealing other activities.
The toddler's play area has soft rubberized flooring in vibrant colors to enable better grip and play for children. The entire podium has shrubs along all the pathways and the perimeter creating a lush green experience.
The ground floor has a commercial front on the north and west and accordingly has a low wall that promotes visibility to the building. This also creates a sitting space along the outer footpath. The driveway section is made up of three parts. The central portion is made of concrete with basalt pavers on either side acting as a pedestrian path near the building and parking on the outer side. This theme is followed all around the building. Trees are planted on the outside road along the plot boundary on the north and east. On the west side, a dense tree plantation softens the built-scape. On the south side, small planters adjacent the building offer respite from the continuity of the facade.
