The Shri Shri Ravishankar Vidya Mandir at Choryasi, Surat was a challenging project.
The Objective of the project is to create a beautiful campus with an environment that makes the learning and teaching experience a joy to the students and the faculty alike.
The Master Plan of the school campus consists broadly of four major hubs namely the Administration and Faculty, Teaching hub- Academic Blocks, Multipurpose hall/indoor sports hall and the Recreation plus Dining hall.
The site had two existing buildings opposite each other. We came up with a courtyard concept. The Playground with football court is planned in the center. The existing building merge into the proposed extensions comprising of the administration office block, ‘L’ shaped academic block. The recreation + dining hall & multipurpose hall are placed at the two corners. The proposed development is seamless and enhance the existing infrastructure. The elevations are matching to the architectural style of the SSRVM brand of schools.
The Layout plan is evolved around a central playground with buildings placed around it. All Academic, Sports, Dining and extra-curricular activities are planned in a ‘C’ shaped profile. The use of courtyards is of great importance in buildings specially in an extreme climate like that of Surat.
It enhances the quality of light and cross ventilation, thus enhancing the environment. Segregation of pedestrians and the vehicular traffic is achieved, thus ensuring safety for the students.
