The contribution of the AVA architects to Pratisaad House (A multimedia corporate office) at JM road, Pune was significant in several ways – as a gesture towards the regeneration of London’s riverside and as evidence of the practice’s commitment to the re-use of worthwhile old buildings.
The site was a redundant residential complex, completely dilapidated and an eyesore. Being part of the old city area, only the front was visible from the street. The core idea was to transform the site with a facade befitting the nature of the media company while maintaining the scale of the adjacent street.
The dynamic graphic pattern on the staircase directs one to the entrance and the lobby on the first floor. This ferro cement wall is a distinct element of the building and is responsible for its stand-out identity. The first floor double height lobby offers views of the street and is the connecting element within the building. Two circular columns on visible on the external and internal facade showcase the services of the various office spaces and conference rooms overlook this space and interact with it making the space full of life.
