Mr. Paranjape, the Managing Director of the Matrix Developers a real estate form, commissioned AVA architects to design his company’s new sales offices at the Forest Trails Township.
The brief called for a high degree of flexibility and this building reflects the practice’s enthusiasm for open-ended systems that can be added to or subtracted from – it has a clarity and sense of order coupled with an elegant economy of means
The idea was to reduce everything to a sleek and humane structure: it required a great deal of persistence. The structure consists of a series of lightweight steel frames on which the highly office container rests. The interior of the building consists of the reception, MD’s office, CEO, sales and accounts staff, display area of physical model, AV room, discussion rooms, furnished model apartments for display and ancillary utilities. Services are restricted to the perimeter, obviating the need for fixed internal elements – walls and partitions can be freely moved around. In the bridge which links the offices sample apartments lightness is taken to a new extreme with it floating over a landscaped area.
