A grand entrance with a wooden door welcomes one inside the house which opens up into the lobby area with a view of the door to the open space. While transitioning from the lobby you see the living area on the left side and small door leading towards the study area. The study room has a bookshelf and file storage and minimal furniture. The desk is planned in a way that one can overlook from the window.
The double height living room gives bigger volume creating a grand effect. The dining area is along the living area maintaining a direct connection between them. The living and dining area has view on both sides which increases indoor outdoor relationship. The staircase from the living area to the corridor on top acts as a focal point.
The kitchen is next to the dining area for ease of service. It has a U-counter for cooking and cleaning with a rectangular island. The island has a cook top and space of preparation. Contrasting colors are used for the kitchen counter and walls to highlight the areas.
Corridor on the upper floor connects the bedrooms and the home theatre. The corridor overlooks into the living space improving the visual connection and interaction.
The master bed-room has a bed kept in centre surrounded by informal seating and a staircase going from the bed-room to the loft. Wooden flooring in the bed-room creates a transition from the corridor. Loft on top is used as a study cum working area which helps in achieving larger volume for the bed-room. Staircase design is inspired by the Tetris game adding uniqueness to the design. The stepped false ceiling follows the profile of the existing sloping roof designed for proving indirect light in the bed-room.
The daughter's bed room has a bed planned in centre having a green and grey headboard which acts as the focus of the room. White walls and ceiling reflect more light improving the spatial quality.
